Magnificent Masking!

Hello again!

I want to send out a BIG thank you to all who participated in our mask making party last night at equipment checkout. Overall I would say it was a smashing success and fun to boot.

I was truly inspired by everyone's response to my choice for Adrian. You should all be aware that Rytis is a very busy man with a job and his own business so it will be imperative that we keep production on schedule to accomodate his needs - as he will be accomodating ours.

Everyone who auditioned has been offered a role in Life W/O Parole, and most have accepted - this is very exciting to me as everyone worked so hard in their auditions and they deserve BIG KUDOS! I cannot say enough about Tina Buckingham and the talent she brought to our auditions - she's a true gem to be appreciated in the MT film community.

PLEASE be sure to read the finalized script - I'll try to get it on the blog this weekend - if you haven't received a hard copy yet find Camdon or I and get one. We've added a great (I think) transition on pg 9 - scene 20 - that clears up some confusion that was brought to my attention. Oh yeah, the cinematographer likes it too.

We cast and lost a fabulous Roxanne in one fell swoop. We are not the only people who over-commit in this industry. I'm e-mailing every acting venue I can find a website or email address for in the state for help. Keep your ears open in case you come across a terrific mid to late 30s lady with attitude.

Next Friday's meeting we're back in Cheever room 214 at 4:10pm.

Your support has been super! 16 days till production and counting! There's still so much to do!

Greetings!

Hello! My name is Keith and I will be handling all sound aspects of this film. I am very excited because this project is, in my opinion, very sound-based (others re-affirm my suspicions). This is my first big step "up to bat" as a sound designer and I'm really looking forward to the challenge. I have a great support group that I know will help me when I have a question or two. I want to thank Colette and Camdon for letting me work on this project. I love working in a group like this because I have a responsibility to the group and I don't want to be "that guy." P.S....free t-shirt's and masks, not to mention Diane's cookin'!

Keeping you in the know

Hello to my wonderful team!

I cannot express in writing how well the auditions went last night. Everyone in the room experienced goosebumps more than once. Final decisions for the roles of Roxanne, Layla, Adrian, Doctor, Parole Review Board officer, and likely most of our Security Officers will be announced at our mask making session on Friday.

Speaking of which - For those of you (if there is anyone) who would rather not participate for various reasons - this is not a mandatory activity and you do not have to do it. However, there will be food and fun announcements so don't miss it if you can help it.

The design for the t-shirts has been turned in! Shirts will be distributed at one of our Friday meetings this month. I would be love for everyone to wear their shirt at least once a week throughout the semester.

BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!

19 days until production. The countdown has begun - the clock is ticking - and magic is happening in every department! Keep up the hard work and it will pay off in the end.

Lead or be Lunch!

Touching Base

Lets get ready to RUMBLE! It's Super Bowl Sunday, have you got all your ducks in a row? Poop in a group? Some of you may very well be hearing from me today to schedule a post-production meeting, touch base on how things are going, etc... I'll try to catch you before you're three sheets to the wind and I promise not to call during half time or the fourth quarter.

Don't forget about our mask making session this Friday at checkout - bring a backpack or something to rest your heads on.

I hear some of you are having philosophic discussions about the script - Keep it up! Explore your feelings regarding the questions being raised here. What if it were your kid? What if it were your parent? What if Adrian were a member of your family? How would you respond to circumstances beyond your control and how would you WANT to respond? These can be very different answers for every person.

Enjoy what's left of your weekend and hit the ground running Monday!
